CTA, quiz, calculator or manager: what gets better leads?

On a lawyer’s landing page four buttons sit in a row: “Book”, “Take a quiz”, “Calculate the cost”, “Write on WhatsApp”. A person with three days left to answer a claim looks at them for a second and closes the tab. They are not in pain. They did not know which first step they wanted.

We have already dealt with the question of “quiz or calculator” separately: there we are talking about the price formula and inspection. It's wider. The owner of a cleaning, clinic, furniture workshop and legal practice usually chooses from four enquiry generation tools: a simple button (CTA), a short survey, on-page estimate and a live person. Marketing likes to crown one of them. In practice, a step that coincides with what the client is already willing to do wins.

There is no universal winner. It's a boring answer, but it's honest. Then there's why forms and conversations are arranged this way, and what it looks like on Saturday at the dentist, in the cleaning chat, in the claim to the lawyer and in the kitchen, which has not yet been removed.

The enquiry is an exchange, and the figure from the picture is someone else’s.

The form on the site is a deal. A person gives time, a phone and a piece of their task. You promise an answer, a guide or a record. If the promise is weaker than the effort, the form is cast. If the effort is tiny and the promise is blurred (“find out the price”), an empty “call back” falls into the CRM.

Research about the field is most often removed from online stores, not from the record in the clinic. Baymard On checkouts shows a simple mechanics: a person is harder set of fields than the number of “steps”. In 2024, the average checkout had 11.3 pitches, while the majority was about eight. It's about stores in the U.S. and Europe. For a cleaning enquiry, the meaning is the same: each extra field is another “why do they need it?”

Nielsen Norman Group Cut fields that you can calculate differently, ask later, or not ask at all. In a lab paper by Seckler and colleagues (CHI 2014) cited by NN/G, guideline forms were more likely to be passed on the first try without error. This is about convenience, not about "cleaning conversion will grow by N." Comfortable shape is just less likely to break in the hands.

There is a legend that says: “Remove the fields – you get 120%”. This is the case of the late-two-thousand Imaginary Landscape agency, which HubSpot and Unbounce cited for years before it became law. CXL Michael Aagoras at Unbounce shortened the form of entertainment for events - and the conversion fell. He threw out fields that people were interested in working with and left them boring. Form length is not a law in itself. The question is what the field is and what the person gets in return.

As you usually measure the “conversion of landing page”: Unbounce For tens of thousands of its pages (Q4 2024) gives a median of about 6.6% – a visit to the target action, as it is marked by the advertiser. It’s a mix of SaaS, subscriptions, lead magnets and services. Moscow dentistry on Saturday morning is not included in this sample. The number cannot be carried as the norm. You can carry the habit of counting one action, not four buttons at once.

Simple button: the next step is already on the tongue

CTA works when a person does not need to collect an estimate. “Saturday,” “call,” “leave your phone on a callback.” The price is fixed or one clear “from”. One favor. The fear is not in numbers, but in whether they will make it today.

Saturday, 9:40. My tooth hurt at night. On one site of the clinic red "register" and the number in the hat. On the other is a quiz of eight screens about "your lifestyle." The man picks up the phone first. Here the quiz did not lose because the quiz is bad. I lost because the next step is already obvious, and the poll stood across the pain.

Unbounce in its materials about landings repeats one thought: clear call, fewer forks. A page with a single purpose is simpler than a page where you are asked to take a survey, calculate the implant and write to a chat. This is not the “law of one button from a jam experiment.” It's common sense: four peer-to-peer CTAs on the same screen argue with each other.

The phone in the cap for urgent services is a separate story. Invoca It watches tens of millions of calls in the U.S.: among those that its system considers a phone lead, a significant proportion closes already on the conversation (they have a 2026 summary of about 42% across all industries, in healthcare and home services above). It is important not to drag this percentage to your website. It is important to understand selection: people who have already decided to talk take the phone. The form on the landing page garners an earlier and more timid interest. Comparing "call conversion" to "form conversion" like a phone winning over a site is a mess of channels. For the clinic, the meaning is different: if the pain is now, it is pathetic to hide the room behind nine fields.

A simple button is cheap to assemble. We usually have a tariff. "Start." from 29,000 or landing page: text, form, Metric. If there are few enquiries and the queue of the same type of estimates in the evening is not worth it - this is often enough. Widget "for solidity" here only interferes.

QUIE: Man responds, you understand the segment

A short survey is needed when the manager is more important than the amount. Family or arbitration. A routine examination or acute pain. Apartment or office after renovation. It is easier for a person to poke four clear options than to write in an empty “comment”.

Mechanics are simple and often confused with “engagement.” Each answer is a small step. By the end, the person is already invested and leaves the phone easier. Marketing calls this the ladder of commitment. For services, another thing is more important: answers go to the enquiry. The manager does not open "Ivan, call back", but "the office, 120 meters, after repair, you can on weekdays after 18".

Interactive generally holds attention longer than a static page. Content Marketing Institute Interactive is watched longer (they have 13 minutes in the sample versus 8.5 in statics) and get more engagement. This is about time on content, not about the quality of the cleaning enquiry. The agency cases in the same article - "quiz brought plus 150% leads" - are isolated client stories. They should not be put in the contract as a norm. You can take a working conclusion: the survey gives a personal response ("you come here") in exchange for contact. Sharing seems to be more honest than PDF “enter email.”

Seven screens are thrown in the middle for the sake of engagement. Four questions are usually enough. The question “how did you learn” is almost never worth the first screen. The phone and the essence of the task - yes. The rest can be asked in a voice if the person has reached the conversation.

The quiz to the finished site we usually have from 18 000 .. This is an improvement, not a new digital product. If the page is still in the works, the survey is often included. "enquiry Site" from 49,000 .. The full settlement on the page is another story and other money.

Calculator: A number removes price fear if the formula is fair

estimate is appropriate when the client knows the introductory, and you already count them in the table. Area, route, volume, number of windows, fabric type, linear meters of glass. A person moves parameters, sees a landmark, leaves a request along with these numbers. The fear of “how much will come out” becomes a fork with which to live before the call.

In big B2B, this is called CPQ: configure, price, quote. The client assembles a complete set, the system does not give impossible combinations, the manager receives a ready configuration. For cleaning and shipping, it's the same idea in miniature. Gartner describes CPQ as a sales tool. On a service site, you give the customer a thin edge of the same logic. If the edge coincides with the table, the correspondence is shorter. If not, the person will come with a printout and start an argument on the doorstep.

That’s why the calculator isn’t “always the best for enquiries.” It's one tool in the chain that we call digitalisation: a page, an estimate or a survey, an enquiry, a queue, a person. More about the formula itself and the inspection - in the article "quiz or calculator". About money and deadlines. How much does a landing page with a calculator cost?. The package calculated on the new page - from 99,000 RUB. Embedding in live WordPress, Tilda, Bitrix – from 30 000 RUB. It's different jobs.

As soon as the conversation sounds “well, we need to see”, a hard number on the site becomes a risk. Then range, exit clause, or poll without theatrical accuracy.

manager: when the work cannot be parameterized

A living person wins where diagnosis is more important than price. The lawyer listens to the story and decides whether it is taken at all. The doctor is looking at the picture. The furniture man sees the curved walls. The clinician after the overhaul will not believe the area from the announcement.

It's not an outdated channel. It's a job that the widget honestly can't do. The bad tone of the market is to shame the manager and promise that quiz will replace him. A good tone is to give the person a bid with context so they don't dictate fares from scratch at 21:00.

Intercom In his 20 million dialogs (a sample of the messenger, mainly software), he writes: visitors who first talked in a chat were more likely to become customers; their text was “82 percent more likely.” It is impossible to read this as a law for the district clinic. Interviewers in the chat are already warmer than those who silently left. Intercom itself stipulates that the bot closes repeated questions faster, it is still too early to write off a person when a conversation goes beyond the script. It's familiar to services. At two o'clock in the morning, the chat replies, "Is there a window tomorrow?" A picture of the tooth and what to do in the morning.

An empty “how much” call eats a shift just like a bad quiz. The difference is that the manager is able to stop and say: without inspection, I will not give a number. This widget is shy and draws 12,400 ..

Clinic, cleaning, lawyer, kitchen

Clinic. Acute pain and recording for a specific time - button and phone. The initial appointment with a clear composition is also a button, plus a doctor's and branch page. quiz makes sense if you cut off "just find out how much implant" from "need hygiene this week." Implantation calculator with the field "bone density" lies: the density is recognized at the reception. A manager (administrator) is needed when a person writes a “shot in an attachment”. The site of the clinic we analyzed separately: branches, doctors, record.

Cleaning. Package "support, 40-50 m2, fixed" - button. Apartment with windows, frequency and minimum order - calculator, if the minimum is also in the formula. The office "must be seen after the builders" - quiz (type, area approximately when you can enter) and the manager with departure. Dispute on the threshold because of the number without a minimum we have already told in quiz. Nisha: cleaning.

Lawyer. Consultation with an understandable price per hour - the "sign up" button. Family/Real Estate/Arbitration Segment – three questions, then an enquiry. The calculator “cost of court” is almost always ashamed to show: the state duty is still fine, the outcome of the case is not. The manager (or the lawyer) reads the complaint. Documents of the second party are not placed in the form. Why is a website a lawyer? next-door.

Furniture and kitchens. A typical cabinet for modules is a configurator, a close relative of the calculator: width, filling, color, landmark. The author’s kitchen in Khrushchev with a gas pipe is a meterer. The "modern/classic/loft" quiz helps the manager not to drag the wrong directory. The "come to the salon" button works if the person has already selected the area and date. Four buttons at once – the tab is closed again.

What's going on in the customer's head What to put
The next step is obvious: record, call, leave the phone. Simple button, phone in hat
You need to understand the task and the segment, the amount is not yet Short quiz and enquiry
Fear of price, the introductory client knows himself, the table you have Calculator and enquiry with parameters
You need an examination, a diagnosis, "do you take it?" The widget collects the maximum context
We need a segment and a fork. 3-4 questions, the final range

Ligaments quieter than widget wars

Four instruments rarely live as enemies. It's more like one ladder.

quiz, manager. Answers in Telegram or CRM. The conversation begins with "yes, office after renovation, let's slots to measure" rather than "hello, who are you." For Direct with empty "find the price" this way is often calmer than a full calculator.

Calculator → enquiry with parameters. The number on the screen, the "leave a request" button, in the letter - area, type, landmark. The manager checks, does not count from scratch. If the landmark must coincide with the departure - write about it on the screen, not in small gray.

Button + phone. For an emergency. For those who don’t want to talk now. A room for those who are in pain right now. They do not argue, if it is visually clear which road is the main one.

What not to do: hang a quiz, a calculator, “write us” and “call the manager” with the same pin in the first screen. One chooses between the next four lives and leaves for none.

landing page American SaaS and the site of the district clinic are different animals. There's a lead magnet and an email. There's a record, an estimate, an exit. Interests are useful as a hint of a mechanism: fewer meaningless fields, one clear step, conversation is more expensive than empty form. We will not promise +47% of enquiries after the visa.

How to Choose This Week

Five questions, between shifts, in the same chat where the manager thinks:

  1. Does the client know the introductory ones you already count? If so, a candidate for settlement.
  2. The amount appears only after inspection, picture, documents? Then poll and man.
  3. The next step is already clear - a record, a call, a consultation with the price tag? Button.
  4. Does advertising carry empty “find the price”? First, 3-4 questions, the formula - when the table will withstand the public figure.
  5. Who opens the enquiry first and at what time? A queueless widget is a decoration. About the night lead. who applies in the morning.

It's the same logic as the text. digitalisationTake off the evening routine, don't buy a "system" for a slide. The calculator is not the religion of the studio. It is one of the tools under one roof, next to landing page, survey and CRM enquiry.

A guide to money, if you already understand the format. Page with form - from 29 000 .. The enquiry page is from 49,000 .. quiz on a live website - from 18 000 .. Calculator on a live site - from 30 000 .. The new page is calculated from 99,000 RUB. Multipage for processes - from 179,000 RUB. Accurate estimate - after the conversation, like your customers.

Where to look, without invented laws

Below are the pages that can be opened. This is not “evidence of growing enquiries on the RuNet.” These are conversations about fields, attention, call and chat, with a caveat about the industry.

Frequently asked questions

Quiz or calculator - which is better for enquiries?

If the client counts according to known parameters, and you already have a table - a calculator. If the amount gives only inspection - quiz and enquiry. Analysis of the formula itself: quiz.

When is a simple button enough?

Record, call, one clear "from", service without an estimate of five fields. Then "Start" or landing page for advertising. quiz here will look smart and stand across.

Can the manager be removed by installing a widget?

Not if the job is a diagnosis. The widget collects context. The decision whether you take it and how much it costs after the examination is up to the person. And that's okay.

Can I get a quiz and a calculator?

Yeah, one chain: a few questions, the final fork, a bid with parameters. The four equal buttons on the first screen are usually confused.

Further on, if you choose a specific widget: quiz. If you look at the whole chain, What is Business Digitalisation?. Live calculations -- in portfolio on the page site-calculator.

Write down what question the client asks most often - "how much is it worth", "do you take", "do you have a window tomorrow". Let's say calmly: button, poll, estimate or conversation, without fashion "all quiz".
